Great buyNov 13, 2010
By J. Barrett Took me a couple tries to get it, but really pretty easy to record. the pages have to be open all the way but flat on a table works great. can't be erased without opening the battery compartment which has a screw. Love that my grandaughter can hear my voice reading it while living very far away.

Playback does not workDec 13, 2010
By P. Turec I was first going to try to contact the publisher of this book before listing a poor review, but because they choose to not list any contact email address on their Website, I will go ahead and leave a review here.
My in-laws recorded this book for my 5 year-old son. We have tried to play it multiple times and the book is unable to make it beyond page three. Most times it wants to just start at page one again every time you turn a page.
This is a very cute idea and would be a good gift if their technology actually worked.
Save your money grandparents because this book will ultimately become a disappointment.

Poor technologyDec 12, 2010
By R. Gessel The technology is bad. My wife recorded the book, but, listening to it is quirky. Some pages will not play unless you hold your hands or fingers on the page just right. You would be better off purchasing a cassette recorder, an audio tape and a book and reading the book and sending that package. The concept is a good concept, but the implementation and quality control are horrible. Taking it back to where we bought it.

Doesn't work consistentlyNov 30, 2010

My granddaughter LOVES the book and the fact that Grandma reads it to her. The book just doesn't play back consistently. It will playback the same page again and again or not at all, sometimes I've gotten the default male voice reader instead of what I recorded. It is not very easy to hear, I saw my granddaughter putting the speaker up to her ear. It is hard to keep it as flat as you need to, children just don't hold books that way so it will stop the recording and start the page again once it is flat enough. I don't like this version. Am going to buy the hallmark book and try it out.

Doesn't work at allDec 21, 2010
By Greggyweggy After waiting for 3 weeks to receive this item - I opened it up to start recording. That was quite a chore in itself. The tiniest movement made everything repeat itself. After FINALLY getting a good recording I tried to read the book as if to a grandchild. Impossible. Kept repeating. recordings never matched pages and a child could never look at this book by theirself. Ended up throwing in the trash.
