Record a Story: My Grandma Is Special enables children to create and record their own story. Send it to Grandma, and she can enjoy the gift of a grandchild's voice reading a story to her for years to come. Record a Story: My Grandma Is Special features cartoon animal families demonstrating why Grandma is special. For example: "Because they have the coolest slumber parties." Each time a child turns a page, a musical tune plays and a narrator reads the words on the page. At that point, a child can re-record the words, and add his or her own personal thoughts about Grandma. Follow these directions: - Turn to the page you wish your child to record.
- Press the RECORD button. Listen to the instructions. When you hear a beeping sound, have your child read the words on the page.
- After your child is finished reading the page, press STOP. You can re-record until you are satisfied with the recording. Repeat the process with the remaining pages of the book.
- Set the locking switch behind the screw-on plate to ensure that your child's voice recording won't be inadvertently erased. The voice recording is permanent; it will not be lost when the book's batteries are changed. Three replaceable AAA batteries come with the book.
It can be difficult finding a meaningful gift for a grandparent. Record a Story: My Grandma Is Special solves that issue for parents. A child's voice reading to his or her Grandma is a lifetime keepsake. | | | Features: | |

Grandma LOVED this!May 10, 2011
By Alli Cat 77 My eight-year-old daughter recorded two of these books (one for each of her Grandma's) for Mother's Day. Both Grandma's loved them! The sound is nice and clear and there is music that goes along with each page. Very cute!

Didnt workDec 12, 2011
By Bonk we have done these types of books in the past so we are familiar with how to do them. My wife bought 2 of this one and 1 other different book. These 2 didnt work. The generic story will play, but it wont record your voice. Tried multiple times, unlocked with fresh batteries. It attempts to record your voice, but just plays white noise back. I seriously think they forgot to install the microphone on these.

Good idea but needs workNov 26, 2011
By Staci The book was the right price. It is a very sweet idea and easy to record. Overall I like the book but I rated it a 3 because the battery connection is loose and makes a static sound when played. The static sound is very loud and distracting from the book. Maybe we just got one that was defective.

More light please!Dec 30, 2011
By Christine Cunningham Like the Grandpa record a story this is a fun story with excellent illustrations. The only trouble is the need for there to be plenty of light for the voice activation to work. Excellent concept and a great gift!

Great idea!Dec 29, 2011
By SweetChickster First of all - MUST BE IN LIGHT!! These books are light activated. If you aren't under a light it won't work!
Second of all - LOVE them! My husband is in the army and travels often. We received one of these as a book for Christmas and he easily recorded his voice to the story and when he left tonight for another exercise my children were thrilled that their Daddy read them a story before bed!
Seriously - such a great present idea - just make sure that you are in lots of light!!
